Mission Statement Fuerza aims to empower the local migrant community to be self-advocates by providing ESL education and skills training and facilitating access to the local community

Funding Proposals “We hope to provide ESL classes two times a week for the next academic year, starting 2 weeks into the term.” Item Quantity Cost Vox Car Rentals (Enterprise) $52.85/day, 2 days/week, 8 weeks per term, 3 terms (24 weeks total) $ End-of-Term Dinner $10/person x 20 people = $200/ term, x 3 terms $600 Total: $ FINISHED

Inform the community about Fuerza as well as its events, purpose, and goals. Increase Fuerza members and allies Form bonds with community members and activists

What does being involved in FUERZA mean?
Weekly meetings to discuss: Lesson plans Scheduling visits Student evaluations (who needs more help, who is advanced, etc.) Teacher/self evaluations New methods or ways of teaching English Program expansion and success Socials/get-togethers Opportunities for growth

Volunteers Volunteers must comply with Fuerza’s mission statement and purpose. Volunteers will come from different backgrounds Native-Spanish speakers; mixed status family members; Latinx community members; social justice advocates; community allies Professors, Postdoctoral Fellows, Geisel Students, etc. will help as well as mentor the Fuerza team. The plan is to get members who are willing to stand for dairy farm workers and who carry different perspectives, skills, and backgrounds.

Everyone is committed to 3-6 hours/week... Visiting both Cook and Clay farms Using UVME’s workbook Continuing current lessons to improve grammar and pronunciation Ensuring the students are up-to-speed with the material Assisting with the farm workers’ daily needs that may need English translations Maintaining a healthy friendship with the farm workers Fuerza Leadership 17X Director: David Ramírez Co-Directors: Jarely López & Yadira Torres

What if we don’t get the funding?
We will make sure farm workers receive a list of free* mobile applications and online programs which will help them learn English independently.

Into the Future Projects we hope to continue and grow in our first year: English classes Computer literacy Rights Workshops Tax Return Seminars Create/Find more teaching resources Other project we want to start later on: Expand to other farms.
