4 Figure 3 Effect of hydrocortisone and fludrocortisone on hospital-acquired pneumonia by subgroup Basal blood cortisol concentration was available for 326 (99%) patients (corticotropin test was not done for two patients in the steroid group) and change in blood cortisol concentration was available for 325 (99%) patients (no corticotropin test for two patients, and change at 60 min not assessed for one patient in the steroid group).
