You are a created being who exists to glorify the Creator. You are to be a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ and not of someone else. Learn to feed yourself from God’s word (2 Timothy 2:15).

Understand God’s priorities for your life and set your goals accordingly (Romans 12:1-2). Actively use your spiritual gift(s)

You are a created being who exists to glorify the Creator
Most people may still believe they are created beings, but they do not live for the glory of their Creator Genesis 1:27, 2:7, 18, 21-22; Psalm 100:3; Isaiah 64:8; Matthew 19:4; Colossians 1:16

Rejecting the creation of man by God is contrary to the evidence - and lack of evidence If man is just another animal, there is not a basis for morality - only survival & reproduction matter

Man’s purpose is to glorify his creator: Colossians 1:16 Acts 17:28 Romans 11:36 Philippians 2:9-11

Grumbling and complaining against God because you are not satisfied with your life is sin - This real issue is whether God is satisfied with how you are living your life - Philippians 2:14-15

You are to be a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ and not of someone else
A true Christian is a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ - Luke 6:40; Acts 11:26 The church’s primary task is making disciples of Jesus – Matthew 28:19-20 You must believe & follow the right Jesus or you are left condemned in your sins

1 Corinthians 11:1 - we imitate other Christians only to the degree they are following Jesus Dangerous wolves (Acts 20:28-30) can lead you away from Christ Thank God for the people that help you walk with Christ, but follow Jesus

Learn to Feed Yourself from God’s Word 2 Timothy 2:15
Knowing the Scriptures is the means by which we walk in holiness with God - Psalm 119:9-11 The Scriptures are how we help one continue to walk properly with the Lord - 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Life can be difficult and busy, but that is not an excuse for not reading, studying and praying Find ways to free up time: Eliminate anything detrimental Set aside what is not helpful

Use your time more effectively: Be more efficient; Use your time more wisely - multitask Failure in this area will result in a rebuke for remaining immature and carnal - 1 Corinthians 3:1-3

Walking with the Lord is not a game or a hobby, it is life - don’t waste it.

The mercies of God - all He has done for us in Christ – We are to die to self and live for God - Galatians 2:20; John 4:34 We are to resist the pressures of the world and live as radically new creations - 2 Corinthians 5:17

Live in pursuit of holiness & becoming like Jesus - Ephesians 1:4; Philippians 1:6 Romans 8:29; 1 John 3:2

Seek first God’s kingdom and righteousness, not wealth – Matthew 6:33; Philippians 4:10-13; 1 Timothy 6:8-9 Be humble and let your light shine so that God is glorified - 1 Peter 5:6; Matthew 5:16

Be humble and serve others instead of seeking power - Matthew 20:25-28 Fulfill your God given role in your home: Eph. 5:21-6:4; Col. 3:18-25; 1 Peter 3:1-7 Husband / Wife Parent / Child

Do all your work as unto the Lord - regardless of your employer / employees - Eph. 6:5-9; Col. 3:22-4:1 Share with those in need (Eph. 4:28), doing good to all men, but especially other believers (Gal. 6:10)

Be Active in Using Your Spiritual Gift(s) Romans 12:3-8, Ephesians 4:11-16 and 1 Corinthians 12-14
Your spiritual gift(s), ministry and ability come from God for His glory and the building up of the church

The pastor-teacher helps equip the saints for the work of ministry - Ephesians 4:11-12 It takes everyone in the church working together to be healthy and become mature – Ephesians 4:13-16

Conclusions The goals remain the same, but success will only come as everyone does their part
