The Golden ring cities The Golden ring of Russia - a group of tourist routes, passing by old Russian towns to the North-East from Moscow, in which there are unique monuments of history and culture of Russia, centres of folk crafts. The Golden ring cities belong to the six regions: Moscow, Vladimir, Ivanovo, Kostroma, Tver and Yaroslavl. In the Golden ring consists of eight major cities of Sergiev Posad, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Rostov, Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Ivanovo, Suzdal and Vladimir. The others (Alexandrov, Bogolyubovo, Gorohovets, Gus-Khrustalny, Kalyazin, Kideksha, Moscow, Murom, Myshkin, Palekh, Ples, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Uglich, Yuryev-Polsky, Shuya, etc.) are debatable.

Sergiev Posad Numerous architectural structures of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra, built by the best architects of Russia in the XV-XIX centuries. The ensemble of the monastery includes more than 50 buildings.

Pereslavl-Zalessky In the city - six monasteries: 1. Goritsky monastery (closed in 1744, the Museum) 2. Nikitsky monastery 3. Nikolsky monastery 4. Holy Trinity Danilov monastery 5. The Novodevichy monastery (closed in 1764) 6. Fedorovsky monastery In the city there are nine churches, of which the most amazingare: - Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral of the XII century, the most ancient monument of architecture of the North-East of Russia; - Tent-roofed Church of Metropolitan Peter (1585).

Rostov Rostov - the pearl of the Golden Ring. Considerable cultural potential of the city has made it one of the largest centers of tourism and pilgrimage. Rostov is included in the special program of cooperation between the Council of Europe and Russia for the conservation of historical and cultural heritage. Classics of not only Russian but also of world art became the architectural monuments of Rostov, in particular the buildings of the Synod house of the XVII century - Rostov Kremlin.

Yaroslavl The oldest construction on the territory of the city is the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral of the Spassky monastery, built in years. The pearl of old Russian architecture can be called the Church of Elijah the Prophet. Construction of the temple was started in In the second half of the XVII century on the right Bank of the Volga river was one of the most outstanding architectural ensembles in Yaroslavl - the ensemble of the Korovntskaya Sloboda. It consists of two churches - the warm Church of Vladimirskaya Mother of God and cold Church of St. John Chrysostom, the bell tower and the Golden gate. The Church of St. John the Baptist is the top of the Yaroslavl architecture of the XVII century, monument of the world value recommended by UNESCO to show the tourists. A unique ensemble of the Tolgsky monastery (XVII-XIX centuries) located on the left Bank of the Volga river within the town.

Kostroma In the old part of the city preserved historic structure plan (general plan of the city was approved by the Empress Catherine II in 1781). The basis of the plan is radial grid of streets, the center of the city is opened to the Volga. The biggest historical monument of Kostroma is the architectural ensemble of the Ipatiev monastery. Also significant monuments of architecture and history in Kostroma are Bogoyavlensko-Anastasyinskiy monastery complex and Trade rows.

Ivanovo The architectural plan of Ivanovo is known first of all monuments belonging to the epoch of constructivism (30-ies of XX C.): house-ship, the house of the Shoe, etc. In the city there are many historical-revolutionary monuments, giving it a unique flavor. Historical center of the city is very interesting (it's mostly former merchants' houses of the XIX and beginning of XX C.)

Suzdal Suzdal Kremlin is the oldest part of the city, archaeologically built in the X century, and by the chronicle The architectural ensemble of the Kremlin: 1. The Cathedral of the Nativity of the virgin ( ) 2. The Pontifical chambers (XV-XVIII C.) 3. Nikolskaya Church (1766) In the Western part of the Kremlin there is a wooden St. Nicholas Church, built in Monastic ensembles: 1. Spaso-evfimiev monastery 2. Pokrovsky monastery 3. Alexandrovsky monastery 4. Rizopolozhensky monastery 5. Vasilievsky monastery

Vladimir The city is known by monuments of Vladimir-Suzdal school architecture: the Gold gate ( , rebuilt in XVII-XVIII centuries) - the triumphal arch with a semicircular vault of tuff, above the gate Church White-stone cathedrals: 1. Uspensky ( ; it has in interior fragments of frescos of XII-XIII centuries and frescoes 1408 work by Rublev and Daniel Cherniy; 2. Dmitrievsky ( ); 3. The Cathedral of the Dormition Knyaginin monastery (the end of the XV - beginning of the XVI century); churches XVII-XVIII centuries: 4. The Assumption Of The Virgin (1649); 5. Nicholas the Wonderworker ( ) 6. St. Nikita ( ); In the city there are 239 state-protected buildings of XVIII-XIX centuries.

The Golden Ring is the pride of Russia. There is concentrated the whole culture of our ancestors, all of our historical heritage. Our task is to understand how it is important to preserve these places for the future.
