1 How to do the project for Students

2 What is vidumath? The vidumath project will let you show your Maths skills to your classmates, school, parents and even, the whole world. 1 3 You will have to do it in a small group and solve all the problems on your own. You can ask your teacher for help, if you want, but it’s better if you find solutions on your own because we know you can do this project, like children in other countries have already done. 4 You are going to make a video of an example of the Maths you are learning. 2 You will learn lots of skills, some you might already know, so you will have to share with your group. The best skill will be learning about Maths in a really exciting way.

3 What you will do You’re the film crew
Creating a Maths example. The example of a Maths problem that you will film will be your idea but within an area of Maths that the teacher will set. For example, it might be about frightful fractions, dreadful decimals, silly subtraction etc. Why a storyboard? – a storyboard puts your ideas on paper so you can plan hat and when you will do each scene of your video. You’re the film crew Director, editor, camera person, lighting, editor, scenery and props. Get rolling! Your group’s job will be to find a really good example that is difficult and fun to film. It’s not easy, we know you can do it.

4 Problems to solve Is your Maths correct ?
It really would be a shame if you make a great video and it turns out the Maths example you show is not correct. Be sure to show your teacher before you start filming, just to be sure. Good lighting – cameras are very sensitive to the light. Think about how you can get enough light on to the subject that you are filming? A steady camera – you will have to think about how to keep your camera steady (not shaking or wobbling), This is especially true if you are making a ‘Stop motion film’? Framing – framing is the technical word meaning to get everything you want to film in to the lens of the camera. You should also think about this aspect when you are working on making sure your camera is steady.

5 Some examples

6 Good luck with your project
We can’t wait to see your videos From the vidumath team and your teacher
