4 The Chinese Civil War (1946-1949)
Following World War II and the removal of the Japanese from China, China fell into a civil war between two major groups: the Nationalists and the Communists.

Economy: Like USSR-the government ruled the economy A socialist or command economy Economic reforms: Mao took back the land and redistributed it to form communes (large collective farms) No more private companies—all government controlled These reforms worked!
