I. THE SCRIBE/TEACHER OF THE LAW
Matthew 16:13-20; The elders were the civic rulers; the chief priests were the spiritual rulers and the teachers of the law (scribes) were the moral rulers. Matthew 16:21; I Corinthians 3:6,9,11

OLD TESTAMENT PRINCIPLES 1. God is Holy 2. We are to worship God 3. Sacrifice is the bedrock of our faith 4. There is a Sabbath day of rest 5. The Law was their schoolmaster 6. The temple was a place of worship & sacrifice 7. Dress codes were nonnegotiable 8. They had to tithe 10% NEW TESTAMENT PRACTISES 1. How do we approach a Holy God? 2. Styles of worship change 3. Animals are no longer sacrificed 4. The day changed but not the meaning 5. Christ fulfilled the Law 6. Our bodies have become the temple of the Holy Spirit 7. We dress to bring honour to God 8. We generously give from our blessings
