Evangelism alone is an incomplete commission

4 The FOUR GOALS of DISCIPLESHIP
Evangelism alone is an incomplete commission Evangelism and Discipleship is how God uses Christians in this world.

5 The FOUR GOALS of DISCIPLESHIP
Worship is about worth. (1 Cor 10:31) Worship requires a sacrificial perspective. (Gen 22:1-8) Worship is for those who are set-apart. (1 Sam 15:22) Worship is communal. (Acts 2:46-47)

6 The FOUR GOALS of DISCIPLESHIP
To Establish the Believer in the Word of God.

7 The FOUR GOALS of DISCIPLESHIP
KEY POINT: If a disciple is not meditating on God’s words then it will be evident in all the other goals.

8 The FOUR GOALS of DISCIPLESHIP
The Value of God’s Word God’s name is of great power and authority Psa 124:8 Our help [is] in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

9 The FOUR GOALS of DISCIPLESHIP
The Value of God’s Word God’s name is of great power and authority Isa 42:8 I [am] the LORD: that [is] my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

10 The FOUR GOALS of DISCIPLESHIP
The Value of God’s Word He holds His WORD higher Psa 138:1 [[[A Psalm] of David.]] I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee. 2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

11 The FOUR GOALS of DISCIPLESHIP
KEY POINT: The bible informs every aspect of our humanity and should be cherished above all things on earth.

12 The FOUR GOALS of DISCIPLESHIP
KEY POINT: The evidence of a disciple being established in God’s Word will be displayed in the fruit of their ministry, the joy of their countenance and the content of their words.

13 The FOUR GOALS of DISCIPLESHIP
To Establish the Believer in the Local Church

14 The FOUR GOALS of DISCIPLESHIP
What we mean by local church... When we talk about the structure of the church we talk about it in two ways: the universal church and the local church.

15 The bible discusses the universal church in terms of the “Bride of Christ”
2Co 11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present [you as] a chaste virgin to Christ.

16 When we say local church, we mean the eclectic parts of the universal church spread throughout the cities and neighborhoods of world. Col 4:15 Salute the brethren which are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the church which is in his house.

17 We believe God uses the local church model to reach the world.

18 The local church is a place of unity, love and fellowship
Acts 2:46 And they, continuing daily (met often)

19 The local church is a place of unity, love and fellowship
Acts 2:46 And they, continuing daily (met often) with one accord (unity)

20 The local church is a place of unity, love and fellowship
Acts 2:46 And they, continuing daily (met often) with one accord (unity) in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart (sharing or life & food),

21 The local church is a place of unity, love and fellowship
Acts 2:46 And they, continuing daily (met often) with one accord (unity) in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart (sharing or life & food), 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people (upright testimony).

22 The local church is a place of unity, love and fellowship
Acts 2:46 And they, continuing daily (met often) with one accord (unity) in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart (sharing or life & food), 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people (upright testimony). And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.(people got saved)

23 The local church is a place of unity, love and fellowship
Acts 2:46 And they, continuing daily (met often) with one accord (unity) in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart (sharing or life & food), 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people (upright testimony). And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.(people got saved)

24 Gathering regularly is important
KEY POINT: The church bears fruit by winning souls but it bears the mark of Christ by its unity.

25 Gathering regularly is important
Jhn 13:35 By this shall all [men] know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

26 KEY POINT: Unity is not possible without proximity

27 Gathering regularly is important
Heb 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the profession of [our] faith without wavering; (for he [is] faithful that promised;) 24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some [is]; but exhorting [one another]: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

28 The local church is a place of investment
Rom 10:17 So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

29 The local church is a place of investment
Eph 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

30 KEY POINT: To be established in the local church is to consistently benefit from being poured into while benefiting from consistently pouring into others.
