We as believers are called by God to walk in this world “by faith” which means we must not set all of our trust in our circumstances, or in all that we see in front of us, and certainly not only our emotions. To honor God we walk in the faith that He cares for us.

28. Our example of our forefather’s in the scriptures and in history (like the Pilgrims) are something to celebrate and encourage us on our journey through life. The Pilgrims felt they were being led of God, though they did not see the place they were headed. They had to trust in God who, being a God of love, wanted always the best for them, and He could see the land ahead.

During the terrible days of the Blitz, a father, holding his small son by the hand, ran from a building that had been struck by a bomb. In the front yard was a shell hole. Terrified, yet hearing his father's voice telling him to jump, the boy replied, "I can't see you!"
