The Institute has used its expertise to develop the Relief to Taxpayers & Victims of Crime Program. It is designed to both relieve the taxpayer of burdensome costs associated with criminal behavior and reduce the very crimes that impact victims and their families. Life Skills Institute is more than qualified to speak for both the victims of crime and the taxpayers.

Society’s Major Answers to Crime
“Keep them off the street!” “Harsher sentences for all criminals” Clearly the overwhelming attitude of people toward preventing crime is twofold: “Get criminals off the streets!” and “Lock them up for as long as long as possible!”
5
On it’s face, this is a justifiable response
But it is not working!! People who have been in prison repeat criminal behavior 80% of the time upon release While this attitude is certainly justified, unfortunately it is not working to reduce crime over time because people who have been in prison repeat criminal behavior 80% of the time upon release.
6
The Impact Is: More Fear & Victims of Crime
More Violent Crime than Before More Cost to the Taxpayers The impact of this cycle of behavior results in 1) New victims of crime 2) An increase in more violent crime and 3) Significantly more costs to the tax payers for arrests, prosecution and prisons. In 2012, just the prison costs alone in Arizona were in excess of $1 Billion. This $24,000 cost per prisoner per year does not even include the costs of building the prison facilities.

Thousands of Criminals & Families Counseled and Lives Improved
Developed over 30 years Thousands of Criminals & Families Counseled and Lives Improved Prevents Crime by Altering the Behavior of Criminals through Faith – Hope – Life Skills The Institute system evolved over 30 years as Greg Balluzzo counseled thousands of criminals and their families seeking keys to behavior change. The result is a current system that changes the criminal’s attitude about themselves and others based on the principles of faith, hope and new life skills. This change in attitude results in a change in behavior and less crime.

Reduces Crime & Violence
Saves AZ Taxpayers annually $1.4 Million per 100 prisoners in LSI Program Funds can be redirected from AZ prisons to AZ students Impacts Eliminating crime and violence not only saves injury to new victims, but significantly reduces costs to the taxpayers. By reducing repeating crime from the existing 80% level to the 20% achieved by the Institute system, the Arizona taxpayers save annually $1.4 million per 100 prisoners treated. These funds can be better used in other ways, such as in education.
