to review lessons learned from pandemic response and determine appropriate measures for mitigating the impact of the pandemic influenza (H1N1) 2009
to review the laboratory and epidemiological capacities and practices on seasonal and pandemic influenza surveillance to determine the way forward
to update the knowledge on research and development of the pandemic influenza (H1N1) 2009, influenza A(H5N1) and seasonal influenza viruses
to discuss and identify the need and mechanism for sharing the information of seasonal and pandemic influenza surveillance among countries in the Asia Pacific

3. Expected Outcomes
Understand the success, challenge, and lesson learnt from pandemic surveillance and response
Determine the surveillance strategies and areas for strengthening, particularly NIC’s preparedness
Determine possible public health measures to mitigate the impact of the pandemic
Identify the priority areas of action
