2 Typical Day Being a chef doesn’t mean you cook all day. A chef has many responsibilities and tasks. Chefs do a lot of tasks over and over again and carry heavy things. They also have to busy at the weekends so they must skip out their plans for the weekend.

3 How Technology Affected this Job?
Technology has affected the world of cooking. Instead of using cookbooks to look at the recipe you need, you use tablets and other devices.

4 The Hazards of Being a Chef
In the kitchen, there are many sharp items like knifes, forks, etc. So getting a cut is likely. Getting burned is also likely. You could burn yourself on hot surfaces. Also floors could be a hazard. It could be slippery by all the oil, water etc.

5 Are males and females equally treated?
Yes because both genders are allowed to have that job.

6 Organizations In North America, the biggest professional chefs organization is AFC(The American Culinary Federation).

9 Physical Qualities First of all, a chef must have a degree in physical stamina. Most of the chef’s time at work is moving around at the kitchen. They need to be quick to get meals ready in time. Also, they need to have power and agility in their hands to mix ingredients, move materials and cut meat, vegetable etc.

10 Personalities Traits If you want to be a chef, you obviously need to have a good sense of taste. You also have to be detailed- oriented and have hand-eye coordination.

Training to be a chef takes a long time. You must work for many years to become a full- fledged chef.

It depends on what kind of training your taking. For example: Culinary arts at Okanagan College cost about $4,783 for the program. But Culinary Arts at Vancouver Community College, the cost for the program are about $2,266.

A chef’s average income in Canada is about $35,000 to $40,000 per year.

Experienced chefs can make to about $75,000 per year. A person who owns the restaurant can earn as mush as $100,000.

The job prospects for this job are fair. For the past few years, the number of chefs has increased remarkably. It is said that the number of chefs will keep on increasing over the next couple of years.

An advanced opportunity a chef can have is become a more experienced chef. They could become a head chef if they work hard and do their jobs properly.

In my opinion, some advantages of being a chef are you could cook different types of food and you get lots of money every year. Some disadvantages are that you work for long hours and you usually work on night hours and weekends.

Yes there are self- employment opportunities for being a chef.

No. I don’t have a lot of experience on culinary training. I also don’t cook varieties of food and I don’t know how to cut vegetables and other things.
