Escoffier Club College of Culinary Arts Presented by: Lisa Chu September 20, 2013?

2 Mission and Purpose Sets out to practice classical French cuisine.
Integrating modern techniques and concepts. Dedicating time to further education of French cuisine. Expressing passion for the Culinary Arts in a light and creative atmosphere.

3 Georges Auguste Escoffier
A French chef, restaurateur and culinary writer Popularized and updated traditional French cooking methods.  Legendary figure among chefs and gourmets. One of the most important leaders in the development of modern French cuisine. 

4 Membership Open to all registered Culinary, Baking and Pastry, or Hospitality (Culinary focused) students at Johnson & Wales University. Good standing members must attend at least 50% of the meetings within a school year. Sign in attendance will be tallied after every meeting.

5 Officers and Duties The Presidents- Lisa Chu & Alex You
Spokesperson of the Escoffier Club. Chair all General Membership and Executive Board meetings. Set meeting times and dates. Fund appropriations requisitions. Notify Vice-Presidents in case of absence. The Vice-President- Frank Coppola Assume the duties and responsibilities of the president when absent. Aid president in the fulfillment of his/her duites and responsibilities. Coordinate, arrange, assist in planning, set-up and break down of meeting rooms.

6 Officers and Duties cont.
Treasurer- Jillian Moore Assume duties and responsibilities of president or vice presidents when unable to do so. Keep up to date records and financial affairs of the organization. Collect, tally and manage dues collected at meetings. Assist with funding appropriations requisitions. Drive and fund raising activities. Secretary- Joowon Ahn Keep up to date minutes of each meeting. Handle all correspondence with the organization. Maintain attendance records. Maintain internet correspondence after each meeting

7 Advisor Chef Steven Johansson
Well rounded chef that teaches Classical French Cuisine, International Cuisine, Stocks Soups and Sauces and Traditional European Cuisine etc. Advisor shall attend all organizational functions that require faculty/staff supervision.

8 Elections Take place on an as needed basis, upon either the graduation or voluntary resignation of an officer.

9 Removal/Replacement of Officers
Abuse of power. Insufficient time for his/her position. Violation of absentee policy. Dereliction of duties. Conduct unbecoming of an executive board officer.

10 What it has to offer to JWU students?
Practice their techniques. Cook freely under no pressure. Sharpen their sanitation behaviors. Learn more about Classical French Cuisine. HAVE FUN!!
