PROJECT Name of artist- Da Vinci Name of Artist- Van Gogh Context Italian artist, scientist, inventor s. Genius level. Worked in relation to his church beliefs. 1800s. Influenced by the world around him and the outdoors. Dutch Post Impressionist painter Subject Matter He drew the human body. Was obsessed with anatomy. Drew from Drs autopsies. Drew the skull -the must accurately ever drawn in history He liked painting self portraits. He also painted his world around him with acyclic paint. He was interested in vivid bright colours. Techniques Pen drawings, pencil and charcoal studies into journals. Very accurate body and anatomy drawings. Impasto thick brush strokes. Strong primary colours Influences Influenced by Doctors autopsies Influenced by the creation of man and the church. Wanted to invent flying machines Was influenced by Gauguin who regularly visited Van Gogh. They both painted with non realistic styles. Personal Response I enjoy his drawings because…… I like this artists because He has influenced my colour choice and colour mixing?
