Ongoing Activities E-course on rural poverty and social protection for the MENA region - FAO 5 webinars / Group of participants To be held in June-July 2017 E-Learning version of the TRANSFORM Regional African SP Training Package – ILO & EU-SPS Adapt the 9 modules into an asynchronous instructor-led online-course to be hosted by socialprotection.org & other online educational organizations such as the African Virtual University 50 hours / 2-2½ months Participants: Senior technical officials from Africa First course: September-November 2017 Translation of the platform into French Objective: To facilitate the access from French communities

Future Activities ‘HIV-Sensitive Social Protection’ Online Community and Webinar series – with UNICEF Will be launched in June/August 2017 1 Online Community: This will be an open community, providing an online space for experience sharing on HIV-sensitive social protection topics, with a focus on countries from the Sub-Saharan Africa. 2 webinars: To cover the main findings from a research on HIV-Sensitive Social Protection Programmes in four countries, namely Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Webinars on the UNICEF Menaro Project and Menaro Programme Profile Webinar 1: Overview of social protection programmes in MENA from a Child and Equity Lens Webinar 2: Public Financing for Child-Sensitive Social Protection in MENA: what is yet needed to expand child-sensitive and equitable social protection? Webinar 3: Social Protection Legislative frameworks in MENA from a Child-Rights Perspective Webinar 4: Building shock-resistant national social protection systems
