Airplane The Wright Brothers created the first successful airplane in Before the first airplane was made, space travel wasn’t even a thought in anyone's mind but after it’s creation many scientists and engineers saw that it was possible and it led to the International Space Race.

X ray Marie Curie made many achievements in her lifetime Some of her many achievements include developing a theory of radioactivity and discovering radium. Her research was critical for the development of x-rays X-rays help doctors see what’s wrong with people inside their bodies which is very critical to help some sicknesses.

Polio Vaccine In the 1950s, one of the greatest threats to America's children was polio. It was spread easily in very public areas. Jonas Salk was a researcher who studied the flu and vaccinations. Salk devoted himself to finding a vaccination for polio. He discovered that injecting a healthy child with a killed polio virus would vaccinate the child – in other words, prevent the child from getting the disease. After this discovery Polio was then said to be a rare disease and is basically nonexistent today.

Penicillin In 1928 Alexander Fleming discovered Penicillin.
Medicines made from Penicillin were the first treatments for many serious infections. Over many years many doctors have used Penicillin to treat their patients and without its discovery many people would have died from various types of illnesses.

Structure of DNA Perhaps the greatest development in modern biology was the discovery of the structure of DNA In 1953, James Watson and Francis Crick found that DNA, the basic element of human genetics, is in the shape of a double helix. Understanding DNA and genetics allows biologists to explain why people have certain characteristics.

Concluding Paragraph I put these specific advances in this order because after thinking about it, not one is factually more important than the other, they are all very important discoveries/inventions in the modern world today. I chose the airplane first because without its invention we would never have even gotten satellites in space that power phones and radios and lots of technology that we use today that without this technology we wouldn’t even know half as much about the world that we know today. Now, all the slides after that are necessarily more important than the other, I see them all as equal in importance.
