8 What is Psychology? People have always been CURIOUS about human behavior. The word Psychology come from the Ancient Greek word, “Psyche” which means = MIND and “Logos” which means = KNOWLEDGE or STUDY.

…….is now defined as the scientific study of behavior and mental processes. That’s all….nothing too scary right? (^^,)

12 But why do we need to study psychology?!?
Psychology touches all of our lives in many ways. Psychology is about love, stress, therapy, persuasion, hypnosis, perception, personality, aging, death, depression, intelligence, sexuality, emotion and many more!

13 Why…?!? So, psychologist use this critical thinking and scientific knowledge to: Describe Understand Predict Control HUMAN BEHAVIOR.

14 Why do we need to learn about Psychology as Social Scientist?
Social Science – Study of: Individual interaction with individual Individual interaction with group Individual interaction with the environment Group interaction with the environment Can you see now why Psychology is important in Social Sciences?

15 There’s nothing too scary about Psychology!
It maybe something new to you. But… It shouldn’t scare you. Because… What you get, are new skills and knowledge which others may never have! 
