How to revise: What do you need to know:
Tip 1: Re-Read your key texts. You will not be allowed copies of your texts in the exam, the better you know the text the better prepared you will be for the different questions. Tip 2: Create notes on Key Characters/Themes/Context of each text. Make your notes brief, colour and easy to read. Mind Maps are a good way of collecting ideas. Tip 4: Learning Quotations Keep the quotes you are going to learn as short as possible. Write them on flash cards and ask friends and family to test you. What do you need to know: Paper 1 (2 hours): Shakespeare and 19th Century Texts Paper 2 (2 hours 15 mins) Modern Text, Poetry and Unseen Poetry Tip 3: Practise planning out exam questions. You don’t always need to write big long essays. Practise spending 10 minutes just planning what you would write in your essay is enough to get your brain working. Try adding the quotations you would use to your plan. Tip 5: Exam Practise Make sure you practise writing exam answers in timed conditions.
