1. Making the Most of our School App
Getting Started
You can get the app if you have an Apple or Android phone and/or tablet. To install, visit the Apple app store or Google Play on your device and search for ‘Ashford St. Mary’s School’ and select GET. Once installed, the St. Mary’s logo will appear as an icon on your screen. Tap on the icon to open the app. You can download the app onto multiple devices but will need to install separately to each one.
The Home Page
From the home page you can access all the features of the app.
Before you start using the app it is important that you go to settings to select the year groups/clubs that are relevant to you. Tap on MORE – this will take you to a new page where you should select settings.

2. PLEASE ONLY SELECT THE CLASSES AND CLUBS THAT ARE RELEVANT TO YOU!
Selecting Channels
You will now see the screen below, this is where you can select the classes/clubs that are relevant to you and your child(ren). Please make sure that URGENT is always selected; this means that you will receive important ‘whole school’ messages. A green tick indicates that the class/club has been selected. Your selections will be saved automatically when you leave the page. .

New Messages
You will receive an alert on your device when you have received a new message(s).
Select the Timeline icon to view messages. The message will remain in the timeline for you to refer to until you either delete it ‘X’ or mark it as a favourite. .

3. Click on the arrow to move to the next month
Events
From the Home Page you can access the school Events Calendar – this is updated regularly with school events, development days, school holidays etc.
Click on the arrow to move to the next month
Click on this icon if you would like to add the event to your own electronic calendar
Information
Here you will find lots of really useful information! Term dates, our school day, clubs etc. There are also links to our School website, Squid our school online payment system and parents evening booking system.

4. News
From time to time we will post information in the News section. As with the timeline, you will receive an alert to let you know that there is a new notification.
Contacts
You can the school by tapping on the icon below.
It is a good idea to close the app when not in use. This allows content to refresh – you won’t miss any messages as an alert will pop up on your phone, even when the app is off!
Please contact the school office if you are having difficulty downloading or using the app.
REALLY IMPORTANT! If you do not have a Apple or Android phone, please let the school office know straight away to enable alternative contact arrangements to be made.
