To facilitate new and innovative clinical and translational research while enhancing team science To promote scientific interactions among many disciplines and the community to accelerate the processes from discovery and innovation to improved patient care To provide research support for highly promising junior faculty to shorten the time to research independence Development of potential Intellectual Property (IP) and commercialization of technologies, if applicable sctr.musc.edu

Discovery Grants: up to $25,000 Translational Roadblock Studies Grants: up to $25,000 High Innovation High Rewards Grants: up to $10,000 More details are listed in the flyer shared with you today. Retreat attendees are strongly encouraged to compete for pilot project funds on the topic of the retreat theme. sctr.musc.edu

CTSA R21 Funding Opportunity
Purpose: To enable collaborative teams of investigators to explore novel, generalizable approaches to important translational science questions, and to assess the utility and feasibility of such approaches. Collaborations that bring together ideas, theories, methods and approaches from disparate scientific disciplines are particularly encouraged. Example of projects: Translational studies of the human microbiome Application Due Dates: 2017: July 31, November 29 2018: March 29, July 30 Budget Limits: $275,000 Direct Costs over the 2-year award period Collaboration Requirements: At least two different CTSA institutions If you are interested to apply: Contact Dayan Ranwala and Randal Davis at SCTR sctr.musc.edu

Please fill in the confidential retreat evaluation form and drop into the baskets near the doors before you leave today. The raffle ticket is attached to the evaluation form. Please write your name, address and phone number on the back of the raffle ticket stapled to the form and drop in the box. Keep the other portion with you.
