2. Meet Mrs. Farnsworth
I’m married to Mr. Farnsworth who teaches 5th grade.
I have 3 sons Brett (23), Blake (19), and Bryce (17).
I have worked in the district for 27 years.
I team with Mrs. Messmann.

3. Reading
Focus on reading comprehension strategies like: making connections, questioning, visualizing, inferring, determining importance, and synthesizing.
We will be using Journeys Reading Series and will implement the Daily 5 as well.
*If you can find a small ½-1” binder that would be wonderful!
Independent Reading – shooting for 350 or more minutes per month(See included sheets).

5. Language Arts & Spelling
As part of Journeys will be writing most days-Day 4 will be a bigger chunk.
Many new grammar skills.
Making ME Books to journal 3rd grade.
New spelling words given on Monday in the homework folder. Practice during the week.
Tests taken on Friday every week.
We’ll learn cursive-starting in October.

Starts out with review concepts and spirals through new and old concepts.
