Secret Sins (Psalm 19:12) Committed unknowingly or ignorantly-not aware of (Lev. 5:14ff) How to avoid them? Pray Practice self-examination (2 Cor. 13:5) Read (2 Tim. 2:15; Rom. 7:7) Habitual sins tend to end up ignored Concealed (Eph. 5:12) Secrecy, thief, sensuous, murderer, false teacher John 3:20-21; Numbers 32:23; Acts 5:1-11; Joshua 7:10-26 Always known to God (Mt. 6:4; Jer. 23:23-24; Eccl. 12:13-14; Rom. 2:16)

Besetting Sins (Heb. 12:1) “…that which easily encircles or entangles, like a loose flowing robe…” Sins which cling so close to us that cause us to stumble Examples: Sins indulged in before obeying the gospel-lying, gambling, cursing, cheating, etc. Drawn to due to our temperament – pride, laziness, skepticism, stubbornness, etc… Due to our profession

Willful Sin (Heb. 10:26-31) Sin committed knowing that it is a sin, an offense to God Rom. 7:15-25 Heb. 10:26; high-handed abandonment of Christianity Deliberate and presumptuous refusal to accept and do what is right Brought face to face with the truth, but still persists in error (Jer. 36) (Acts 24:25)
