1 Passion-driven; guilt-free.
Evangelism Passion-driven; guilt-free.

2 The evangelist is a special person, with a specific task to make gospel opportunities.
1. People gifts to the church - Eph.4:11. “It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers” (so clearly not everyone is an evangelist) 2. Philip the Evangelist - Acts 21:8. 3. 2 Tim.4:5. As leader of the church, Timothy was to “do the work of an evangelist”.

3 The evangelist is a special person, with a specific task to make gospel opportunities.
To evangelise is for all Christians, with the general responsibility to respond to gospel opportunities. Col.4:5-6 – “Be wise in the way you act towards outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” 1 Pet.3:15 “But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”

4 This is Biblically Consistent.
It recognises God's sovereignty. It leads us to prayer. It encourages holy living. "Be wise in the way you act towards outsiders". (Col.4:5) There will be a positive contrast. There will be sexual purity. There will be freedom from materialism. There will be satisfaction in Christ. There will be Christ-like behaviour. There will be genuine compassion. There will be consistent living.

5 This is Biblically Consistent.
It recognises God's sovereignty. It leads us to prayer. It encourages holy living. It develops a Christian mind-set. "Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt." (Col.4:6) Start from where people are. Speak their language. Identify with our hearers. Use appropriate illustrations and expressions. Tell our story.

6 This is Biblically Consistent. This is Practically Wise.
It removes strain and false guilt. It encourages excellence in our tasks. It develops genuine friendships. It allows effective, relaxed and open conversations. It embraces all personality types.

7 “Outsiders“ ‘Outside’ the camp of Israel. A place of disease; death; pollution. ‘Outside’ the city. A place of darkness: danger. 2 Thes.1:8-10 Away from the joys of genuine fellowship and unity. To be in the darkness of night rather than the light of friendship. To have no eternal security or hope, no peace, no confidence. To be away from the presence of God.
