TDAP Vaccine The State of Virginia requires that all middle school students must have one dose of the TDAP vaccine. The primary purpose of the vaccine is to add protection against Diphtheria, Pertussis and Tetanus. If the TDAP has been given after the age of 7, the requirement is met. Most students receive the vaccine after their 11th birthday. The TDAP vaccine is different from the DTaP. You can obtain the vaccine from a physician, military clinic, urgent care centers, some local pharmacies and the Loudoun County Health Department. Loudoun County Health Department will provide the vaccine at no cost if required for school but an appointment is required. Please bring a record or documentation of the TDAP vaccine before the first day of school. It should be delivered to Stone Hill Middle School’s front office. Any student without TDAP documentation will not receive their class schedule and will not be able to attend school on the first day.
