Math exams are given on the first day of each quarter (except 116)
Calculate with Confidence is the text
Each quarter must pass at 100%
You have 3 attempts to score 100%
First test is 10 questions. Second is 5 questions (if you missed 1 or 2 questions) or 10 questions (if you miss 3 or more)
Third attempt will be 10 questions
Failure to pass third attempt at 100% will result in failure of the class.

24 hours must elapse between test attempts
First year students have 20 mins (2 mins per question) to complete the test
Successful math tests are required BEFORE medication administration in the clinical setting.

If the answer is less than 1, take it out to the thousanth place (3 places) and round to the hundredth place (2 places)

For tablets, if you have a problem that results in an answer of 0.5 tablets, do not round up. For results of , round to the nearest whole number (up)
You cannot break a capsule. Capsules have to be a whole number
Some tables cannot be broken. The test question will refer to breakable or splittable tablets as “scored”

7. Lead, don’t follow
Include a leading zero for all answers less than one

Do not include a trailing zero
example: 12 ml NOT 12.0 ml

8. Your units must be labeled to get credit for a right answer.
example “1.5 ml” not “1.5”
Take a look at your final answer and see if it makes sense to you.
Read the question carefully so that you are answering the question properly. If the question is “how many tablets” the answer should not be “0.25 mg”
If you are given a medication label, READ IT
