Urban Myths about Composite Classes
The presence of younger students affects the maturity development of older students. Research does not support this assumption – in any regular class there may be up to 18 months age difference amongst students Our syllabus does not consider students in age groups but stage groups
6
Composite classes are more difficult because there are different groups
Every class is a ‘composite class’. Any group of students (even if they are the same height, age, weight and share the same birthday) have differences in abilities across a wide range of endeavours. Teachers have always designed their teaching programs to cater for different levels of ability.
