1. Crime Scene Investigation
Who was involved? Knights, Henry II (suspects), Edward Grim (witness), Becket (victim)
What actually happened? Where did it happen? Becket taken by force, Knights wounded him in head, issue over power, King involved too, head injured
What do we know about Henry and the Knights? Knights wanted to kill Becket, Knights worked together to kill him, wounded him in head and came ready to fight with weapons and armour
What do we know about Becket’s personality and actions? Becket wanted to die, unafraid and wanted to be with God
Why did it happen? Possible hatred involved, ‘fly you are a dead man’, Becket apparently had been a traitor to the kill

2. Homework: CSI Murder in the Cathedral
Create a police report in your book on the murder to include:
Where? When? Who? A description of the murder scene and the body
What? How? Report on what the witnesses say about the murder (e.g. use a section of Edward Grim’s account on p.21 of your textbook)
Why? Explain what you have discovered in your investigation about possible suspects, motives and the events leading up to the murder
