4. Grade Reports
Parents and students will be able to access grades at all times via PowerSchool. If there are any questions, don’t hesititate to ask or !
Parents will be notified if their student’s grades begin to slip.

5. Materials Required 3-ring binder with 4 dividers for organization
Objectives & Warm-Up’s, Notes/Classwork, Labs, Reference papers
Loose-leaf binder paper
Pencils with lead and erasers (pencils should be used for all calculations)
Pens (blue or black)
Scientific Calculator
Calculators will be provided in the classroom if needed.
I will provide a textbook for each student to use in the classroom as well as graph paper, rulers, colored pencils and any lab equipment that is needed.

6. Grading 97%-100% = A+ 93%-96% = A 90%-92% = A- 87%-89% = B+
An Incomplete grade (I) is given to students who must make up work after the quarter has ended due to some extenuating circumstances.
Grades will be assessed on a standard scale as follows:
97%-100% = A+
93%-96% = A
90%-92% = A-
87%-89% = B+
83%-86% = B
80%-82%= B-
77%-79%= C+
73%-76%= C
70%-72%= C-
69%-55%= F
Below 55%= F-

9. Weighted Grades: Advanced Chemistry

10. Late Work Homework is due at the beginning of class.
Anything turned in later will receive a maximum of 70%.
Late assignments will ONLY be graded when completed during 12th period, before school, or after school in the classroom.
When absent due to a field trip or competition (athletic or otherwise) students still need to submit assignments on time.

11. Honor Policy
Cheating includes giving, requesting, obtaining information on tests, quizzes, projects or any attempt to submit an assignment as one’s own work.
The penalties for cheating are as follows:
First offense: One day of In-School Suspension (ISS) and zero on the assignment.
Additional offenses will result in multiple days of ISS or other consequence deemed appropriate by the administrator.

12. All make-up work is the student’s responsibility.
If a student knows they will be absent from school, they must notify me ahead of time to get their work.
If students are unexpectedly absent from school….
Any make-up work not completed will result in a zero for that assignment.
If students miss a lab, they must see me to arrange a time to make up the lab. They must make it up within one week of their absence.
If students miss a quiz or test, they need to arrange a date and time to take the quiz or test the day they return.
All students have the number of school days equal to the number of days that they were absent to complete their missed work. Anything turned in later will be counted as “late”.

13. Tardies
There is more than adequate time for students to take care of any and all of your personal business and arrive to class on time.
It is expected that students are in your seat and working on the drills and objectives by the time the late bell rings.
Consequences will be followed as outlined in Student Handbook.
Log will be entered into PowerSchool and the student will be held accountable by the Assistant Principal.

14. Behavior
RESPECT your fellow students, the room, the equipment, and the teacher.
Upon arrival to class, you MUST be seated before the bell rings.
Take personal RESPONSIBILITY for your own learning and academic success.
Be prepared for class (notebooks, pens, pencils, etc.)
School policies regarding behavior should be followed at all times.

15. Other
Water Bottles & Gum: No water bottles, gum, or food of any kind are permitted in science classrooms unless you have a note from the nurse.
Cell Phones & Other Electronic Devices: Cell phone use is prohibited. I should neither see nor hear your phone. Electronic devices such as IPODS and MP3 Players are also not allowed to be used during school hours. If these devices are used during class time, they will be confiscated and turned into the Main Office.
