7. Textbook Text Book: Spring Board
Textbooks are used every day in the classroom. These books are NOT to be taken home.
If you lose pages in your book, you must go to Edmodo to print out a copy.

8. Bell-Ringer
Bell-Ringer will be every day as you walk in. The assignment will be on the board and will stay in your folder.

9. Classwork
Students are given adequate time to complete their classroom assignments. It is important that the student make every effort to complete all assignments in class. Failure to do so will result in a lower academic grade. In some cases, uncompleted work will be sent home to be finished. Please be advised, this is incomplete work and is in addition to the already planned homework.

11. Homework
Homework is a useful tool. It is used to reinforce and practice skills that are taught during the school day. If the student is confused, try to help them the best that you can, but the student must do the actual work.
Students are assigned homework Monday through Friday.
Students will be responsible for writing down their homework daily or check Edmodo for homework details.
Homework is due the following school day unless otherwise noted.
Please also know that homework assignments are directly correlated with our daily class work activities.

12. Zero (Z)
If the student receives a “Z” that means the student did not do the assignment.
The student can turn in the assignment late for a lower grade.
If the student has 3 or more “Z” then they will get a detention.

19. Absences and Tardy
If the student is absent, send a note within 24 hours with him/her stating the reason for the absence. This note needs to go to the office.
The student will be responsible for asking the teacher for any make-up work.
If the student is tardy, a tardy pass must be acquired from the office.

20. Discipline
Discipline is a concern in any academic program. It takes away from the students education when the teacher has to stop a lesson because of unacceptable behavior. You will be receiving a copy of the Parent Handbook, which includes the school’s discipline plan. Please reinforce these procedures by discussing them with the student. The student will also be rewarded for good behavior! Please discuss this with the student and both, you and the student, sign and return this welcome letter as soon as possible.

21. Behavior Management
Our class will use a behavior management system as needed in our classroom. Students are required to come to school to learn. Students will first receive a verbal warning if they are breaking a rule. After that, if a student continues to break a rule or be disruptive the students will receive a detention, which will represent their first official warning.
Failure to wear proper uniform and misbehavior will lead to a detention. Three detentions for the same reason lead to an administrator.
I developed a discipline plan to help each student manage his/her own behavior. Every child deserves a positive educational climate in which to learn and this plan allows everyone the opportunity to do so in a fair and consistent environment.

Bring your materials and be ready to work.
Electronic devices are not permitted.
Do not turn on or use the computers unless you have been directed to. No food or Drinks ever in class!!!
