Our Future Questions? Overview I’ve been asked to spend the next 20 to 30 minutes talking to you about our firm. In this time of breaches of trust…sometimes on a scale so HUGE that it’s almost unimaginable, it’s encouraging to know that so many talented people are still interested in working in our profession. And you should be…you’re entering the profession at an important moment in history. So, what will I be talking to you about today. Well, I want to talk about the firm’s Mission, our Shared Beliefs – and why that’s important to our firm. We’ll take a quick look at our organization – and how we’re constantly looking to make changes that make sense to our clients, and our people, we’ll talk about what we do and why that’s important for you – especially if you’re considering a career in professional services. We’ll talk about opportunities and our future – two things that we believe go hand in hand. We’ll save some time at the end for questions.

Four functional areas Audit/ERS Consulting Financial Advisory Services (FAS) Tax Shared Services Organization Our Organization Our organization is unique among professional services firms. We area full service firm – what do I mean by that – aren’t all the others “full service” too? Well, we think our firm is different because, when all the other firms were divesting themselves of their consulting practices, we held on to ours (Deloitte Consulting) – we made the decision, reluctantly, to divest Deloitte Consulting a little more than a year ago because of a climate that seemed to be pointing toward a regulatory environment where we could not offer consulting services. What we realized when we started the process, and certainly as it progressed, was that the Sarbanes-Oxley legislation did not prohibit us from offering those services – we have limits – but the services are available to our clients. More importantly, that expertise is available to our engagement teams that serve clients. And the opportunities for our people are wide open! We offer Audit and (ERS) Enterprise Risk Services to our clients – Audit – ERS – Consulting Services – Financial Advisory Services – Tax – Shared Services – our shared services group provides support to all of our firm functions through our Operation team, Information Technology, internal Finance group, Human Resources, and other supporting teams.

Our audit process reaffirms our commitment to quality and has many characteristics including - A consultative approach: Our consultative approach is a significant component of our quality services. The key to it is our culture and policies, which foster technical consultation among partners and staff (at the local and national level). The goal of our consultative approach is to provide the right answer – the answer that will stand up to scrutiny- in a timely manner. Access to the right experts: In today’s environment of increasingly complex and global business structures, a key factor in delivering a high quality audit is the ability to access the right experts from around the firm. All engagement teams have access to the right professionals, including specialists in computer audit, capital markets, tax, and actuarial sciences. Technology and Tools: D&T has always been at the forefront of improving audit quality. We developed the first computer audit tools in the 1960s, which have evolved into our audit approach – Deloitte Audit. We tailor our approach, known as Deloitte Audit, to reflect the circumstances and complexity of each client. Deloitte Audit combines rigorous risk analysis, diagnostic processes and a client service assessment, that together, go beyond the requirements of professional standards. In addition to these basic attest services, we offer a number of other attest services including Due Diligence, agreed upon procedures and Internal Controls Attestation, which is a new service we provide as a result of Section 404 Sarbanes Oxley.
