8. Apprenticeships Earn while you learn
There are over 140 skilled trades in Ontario
Details:
Students must find an employer to hire and train them
Training agreement signed - prepared by an Apprenticeship Branch consultant (MTCU)
90% is practical on-the-job;10% is theoretical in-class
Some trades have exam requirements once training is complete
Red Seal Trades provide opportunities to work in other provinces or territories

To apply students must have at least 4 senior courses at the C, U or M level, plus English at the C or U level
Some programs have specific course requirements

$95 fee – 5 program choices (no more than 3 at any one college)
College Application Deadline – February 1, 2018
Grades are sent electronically in various stages AUTOMATICALLY
Admission decisions are made as early as February 1, 2018 and sent throughout the semester
You can make changes or check the status of your application online anytime
The most common deadline for confirming offers of admission is May 1, 2018 – but it may not be the only date
