The Fourth Petition “Give Us Today Our Daily Bread”
Lesson 58 The Fourth Petition “Give Us Today Our Daily Bread”

Philippians 4:19 (NCV) 19 My God will use his wonderful riches in Christ Jesus to give you everything you need. GOD MEETS OUR NEEDS

Psalm 145:15–16 (NCV) 15 All living things look to you for food, and you give it to them at the right time. 16 You open your hand, and you satisfy all living things. GOD MEETS OUR NEEDS HE PROVIDES FOR ALL (EVEN THOSE WHO DO NOT KNOW HIM) Matthew 5:45 (NCV) [Your Father in heaven] causes the sun to rise on good people and on evil people, and he sends rain to those who do right and to those who do wrong.

GOD MEETS OUR NEEDS HE PROVIDES FOR ALL (EVEN THOSE WHO DO NOT KNOW HIM) James 1:17 (NCV) 17 Every good action and every perfect gift is from God. These good gifts come down from the Creator of the sun, moon, and stars, who does not change like their shifting shadows. HE PROVIDES BECAUSE OF HIS GOODNESS, NOT BECAUSE WE DESERVE IT Romans 8:32 (NCV) 32 He did not spare his own Son but gave him for us all. So with Jesus, God will surely give us all things.

1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.
Psalm 118:1 (NIV) 1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. …SO WE RECEIVE OUR GIFTS WITH THANKS, AND LIVE CONFIDENTLY IN OUR FATHER’S CARE Matthew 6:31–34 (NCV) God clothes the grass in the field, which is alive today but tomorrow is thrown into the fire. So you can be even more sure that God will clothe you. Don’t have so little faith! 31 Don’t worry and say, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ 32 The people who don’t know God keep trying to get these things, and your Father in heaven knows you need them. 33 Seek first God’s kingdom and what God wants. Then all your other needs will be met as well. 34 So don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will have its own worries. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:25–30 (NCV) 25 “So I tell you, don’t worry about the food or drink you need to live, or about the clothes you need for your body. Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothes. 26 Look at the birds in the air. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, but your heavenly Father feeds them. And you know that you are worth much more than the birds. 27 You cannot add any time to your life by worrying about it. 28 “And why do you worry about clothes? Look at how the lilies in the field grow. They don’t work or make clothes for themselves. 29 But I tell you that even Solomon with his riches was not dressed as beautifully as one of these flowers.
