Students will be selecting which route they would like to pursue in Year 10 and 11. Students have the opportunity to study GCSE subjects and/or college courses.

Options determine the qualifications you take next Choice of options can determine the sixth form you go to How important are Year 9 Options’? Options could affect the career you end up doing so it is important you choose what is the right subject for you. Do not be influenced by what your friends are doing – make your own decisions. Options may determine the courses and universities you can apply to They could affect the career you end up pursuing

12 Career Events Inspirational Women’s Event
Inspirational Women Event – 10th Nov Over 40 women from the wider community attend the event Year 9 students “There were lots of jobs we wouldn't of thought of going into as they are seen as 'men's' jobs, but the ladies made us think differently about these, they are as good as any of the men!” – 14th Nov Over 40 men from the wider community attend the event Year 9 students “I didn’t realise I had so many questions to ask and they answered them all? Career Events Inspirational Women’s Event All year 9 girls will be taking part in Inspirational women's event which started in It has given students the opportunity to talk to women in any industries about career choices. This even was so popular it inspired the creation of the event, which the year 9 boys will be taking part in this year.

13 All home learning tasks should be entered onto Show My Homework.
Home learning should be set as per the details below. Each home learning task should take students between minutes to complete. All home learning tasks should be entered onto Show My Homework. All other subjects (except PE, music and drama) should set each student one piece of homework per timetable cycle – one per fortnight – on a day decided by the teacher/department. Pathfinder Day Hertfordshire University The focus of the day is for students to experience the benefits of going to University and to get an insight into student life, by having a tour of the campus and experiencing a taster lecture.

15 The Importance of Attendance
Attendance target 97% 1 hour a week = 8 whole school days = 40 individual lessons missed 90% attendance results in 4 whole weeks of missed in one year Over 5 years that results in ½ a school year being missed!
