What is the ‘season’ we are in?
It is a season of important structural growth and strengthening that will eventually enable us to embrace many more people. It is a season in which God wants to bless this church to enable it to emerge and become more visible than before. It is a season characterised by fruitfulness, a new level of praise and a loving call from God to more intimacy with Jesus.

Doing Church bigger means reaching out to more people. Intentionally making more effort to connect with people. Making this church more visible to our community, or moving us so that we are more able to speak to and cope with greater numbers.

Have already seen some success in Doing Church Bigger during 2016: Alpha had 8 guests Ladies Breakfast had 90 Church Easter Day Meal had 105 Trinity School Easter Service – 360 at the Mill Lane Centre Quiz Night attracted 111 Announced the launch of the Hope Church Music Academy First Jobs Fair Re-launched the It’s a Treat event Average number attending Sunday mornings has increased

Have already seen some success in Doing Church Bigger during 2016/ 2017: Alpha had 8 guests – had 8 guests so far this year Ladies Breakfast had 90 – this year had 114 guests Church Easter Day Meal had 105 – increased this year Trinity School Easter Service – 360 at the Mill Lane Centre – 149 at recent baptisms, 126 for regular Sunday two weeks ago Quiz Night attracted this year?

Hope Church: Mission To fulfil the Vision, it is proposed to put focus into nine areas during They are:

Hope Church: Mission Outreach and Evangelism:
- The appointment of Ian Lettington as full-time Head of Evangelism - Street Work: eg sketchboard/treasure hunting - Ian will take over Alpha - Increased promotion of key events (social, Alpha, Christmas etc) - Housegroup challenge of reach out and invite - Adopt goal of ‘filling the empty chairs’ – approx 25-30

Hope Church: Mission 2. Marketing and promotion: - Advertising. Adverts in local publications/ Online / Flyers / Roadside banners / Sponsorship? This will focus on awareness and key events – esp core social activities, Alpha and Christmas - Apply for second exterior sign on roofline - Take an offering to ensure marketing activity continues into 2018

Hope Church: Mission 2. Marketing and promotion: - Advertising. Adverts in local publications/ Online / Flyers / Roadside banners / Sponsorship? Facebook promotion for some events & activities. New Website. Internal advertising – Quiz Night, Superheroes series and new preaching series. Launched a Twitter account. This will focus on awareness and key events – esp core social activities, Alpha and Christmas - Apply for second exterior sign on roofline - Take an offering to ensure marketing activity continues into 2018

3. Boost administration capacity: - Increase Jane’s employment to 2.5 days a week - Introduce annual reviews for all ministry leaders

Hope Church: Mission 5. Increase our ministry capacity: - Talk with Beauty From Ashes about ministry training to provide additional skills on top of Freedom in Christ - To further strengthen and clarify HC’s ‘preferred partners’ in the provision of help in keys areas including – Drink/Drug/Gambling/ Pornography addiction Marriage Breakdown and Divorce Recovery Bereavement, Personal Finances, Domestic Abuse, Mental Health, Gender Identity and Same Sex Attraction. Eating Disorders and Self-Harm. Abortion and unplanned pregnancies, benefits advice, child abuse, legal advice, parenting skills and Wellbeing

Hope Church: Mission 6. Strengthen our Kids work: - To restructure kidZone into two groups (4-6s and the 7-11s) to handle the increasing number now attending. The aim will be to have a structure that can cope with up to s. This means recruiting extra kidZone workers and a leader for the 4-6s - Reviewing the facilities for the second group and consider fitting a flexi-wall between the Knole and Hollybush rooms.

Enlarge the building: - To complete review of what size of facility is required for a church of 500 people – including size of main hall, meet & greet coffee area, kids and youth work, ancillary facilities and car parking - To take an offering as a faith response to an ‘impossible’ task - To complete the repainting and re-carpeting of the rest of the building - To consider revamping the entrance area and doors - To review the facilities for the second group and consider fitting a flexi-wall between the Knole and Hollybush rooms.

Hope Church: Mission 8. Strengthen the housegroup network: - Develop and launch a housegroup initiative to refresh existing group leaders while also identifying and training new leaders.

Hope Church: Mission 9. Pray: - To start the year with a week of prayer and repeat in the Summer.

How do you engage with this? Please pray. Ask God to show you where you fit in. Make this Vision your Vision. Could you serve in the Youth, Crèche or Clinic Cafe? Give. Be asking God for finance – esp for the Offering Days Be thinking and praying about inviting friends to social events and lunches Be welcoming to visitors Pray - Serve - Give - Invite - Welcome
