1
Cell functions for plant and animal cells
By: Mely and Reanna
2
Cell nucleus The nucleus in the cell is an organelle
It’s closed in a double membrane and communicates with the surrounding cytosol In the nucleus there's the DNA there’s a DNA in every nucleus Every cell does something and the cells that do something else are different from each other In the nucleus is the nucleolus
3
Cytosol and cytoplasm The cytosol is mostly water
The cytosol contains protein and can control cell metabolism The cytoplasm is a term for the cytosol plus the organelles suspend with the cytosol
4
Centrosome and centriole
Microtubule organizing center is another name for the centrosome It’s were microtubles are produced Each centriole is a ring of nine groups of fused microtubles Plant cells don’t have a centriole
5
Golgi bodies and the cell membrane
It’s a membrane bound structure Transports protein filled sacs A membrane is a double layer of lipid bilayer Every cell is enclosed in a membrane
6
Mitochondrion Provides energy Size of bacteria
Membrane bound organelle Nucleus has double membrane Outer membrane is smooth
7
Vacuole and cell wall Membrane bound sac Big/large in plant cells
Helps growth Animal cells do not have cell walls Cell wall provides shape for the cell
