Your Poetry Portfolio and a Final Essay will be the only opportunities you have to bring up any NP’s. Need Volunteers to help put School Writing Book together. Tuesday 3:30 – 4 Extra Credit

All 3 Poems are done today! DUE THURS - If poem is not edited today, you need to find someone to edit it for you before you turn it in. COMPLETED Brochure is DUE THURS - 30 min in class on Thurs to Direct Station: (Poem 1,2 or 3) Finishing or Typing Poetry Independent: (Brochure) Researching or Typing up Research Collaborative: (Editing Poetry) Work with a partner to edit a partner’s poetry ( see SLIDE 8)

8 DO NOW: Editing poetry ELBOW PARTNER: Read over your partners’ work.
Highlight misspelled words (don’t change them.. they might want it that way) Underline or circle comparisons that don’t make sense. Leave comments at the bottom or side of the paper. What did you like? What did you connect with? Is the poem complete? Is it long enough? Improve your choice of words? Could your verbs and adjectives be STRONGER? Improve Figurative Language: Change cliché or cheesy comparisons?
