PRESENTATION
15
PREPARE, PREPARE, PREPARE!!!
Proofread for spelling & grammar errors. Prepare notes to help you deliver an effective & dynamic presentation. If a presentation is complex and lengthy, print handouts for the audience. Make bullet points appear separately so audience focuses on you, rather than reading the screen.
16
PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!
Rehearse before delivering to an audience. Speak slowly & clearly when presenting. AVOID READING DIRECTLY FROM THE SLIDE!!! Use points on the slide only as a cue to further describe in detail.
17
CREATING YOUR INTRODUCTION
You can tell a quick story that relates to your topic in some way. You could also ask audience members a rhetorical question as an attention-getting device. Use shocking statistics, based on facts that will impact the audience. Use a bit of humor--a joke in good taste that relates to your topic.
