34 What is ACE? An acronym used to help you remember how to write a detailed, appropriate paragraph/response in general. Quotes from former students: “Ace is annoying at first– but once you get it, it helps the writing process a lot…” “You don’t have to feel like your BS’ING anything anymore. It’s also something I’ve been able to use in other classes.” “Knowing ACE is like having a teacher with you during an exam. If you remember it for your supporting paragraphs—you’ll be good.” Something you can use/remember so that you do really well on the VLT FSA Writing exam.

35 What is ACE used for? Writing Short Responses Writing Long Responses
Writing paragraphs within an essay (supporting paragraphs) Speaking arguments Speaking informatively To make grape soda

38 What If I were to ACE the journal?
A- Answer the question in your own words… I think that teenagers are most influenced by their friends, and the crowd that they spend time with. C- Cite evidence that supports your answer… In my own personal experience, peer pressure tends to make my choices for me on occasion– and even without that– even teens who don’t have very many friends; they tend to attempt to match their interest and try new things. E- Explain your evidence… When teens try new things with their friends, or agree to do what their friends do– the group they have chosen, could be into something as harmless as video games or something as harmful as drugs. Either way– I think that teenagers are most influenced by their social groups.

39 A- Answer the question in your own words…
Now you try…with this question. “Do you think the legal driving age is appropriate?” C- Cite evidence that supports your answer… A- Answer the question in your own words… E- Explain your evidence… Label each of your sections with A,C,E like this OR this A C E A- C- E-
