Art has four programs; the Studio Arts A.D.T., Art History A.D.T., Art A.A., and Photography A.A.. These degrees are the declared major of 383 students. This makes art the 8th largest department in terms of enrolled majors.
Art degrees have risen in the last two years to over 3% of all MJC completions!
In addition to being required courses in Arts four degrees, are 120 serves those seeking employments at MJC, particularly as an elective in the University Preparation A.A. Degree in Liberal Studies (Teacher Education-CSUS) and as a requirement in the Computer Graphic Applications A.A. Degree & the Certificate of Achievement.
During the academic year art taught 99 sections. 54 were taught by full time instructors and 45 were taught by adjunct instructors.
