THE GENDER EQUALITY PROBLEM IN RESEARCH HAS TWO MAIN ASPECTS OF DISCRIMINATION: A VERTICAL AND A HORIZONTAL ONE. The vertical discrimination reveals itself in: gender imbalanced research governing structures (male researchers in all scientific fields usually occupy the highest academic positions) control of human and financial resources determination of the science development directions The horizontal manifests itself one large gender disproportion in different scientific fields (male counterparts are prevailing in hard and technological sciences when female ones in social and humanitarian sciences). 25-26 of May 2017 Women’s Economic Empowerment: Creating Equal Opportunities in the World of Work

EU GENDER EQUALITY POLICY IN SCIENE
European Commission started dealing the with “women in science” issue in 1990 EU data collection (She Figures); Established the Helsinki Group on Women and Science: a policy forum for exchange policy information on “women in science” among Members States The European Commission has encouraged Member States to improve women's career prospects in research by using Framework Programmes funding. The Strategy of gender equality implementation was developed on the basis of results obtained by projects funded by mentioned above Framework Programmes 25-26 of May 2017 Women’s Economic Empowerment: Creating Equal Opportunities in the World of Work

EU POLICY Initiatives provided for ENSURING gender equality implementation in Science (II)

STEPS TOWARDS GENDER EQUALITY IMPLEMENTATION IN STEM
1.Provide GENDER Studies In STEM Fields for Clearing specifics of Working culture 2. Make The GENDER problem –AS The IMPORTANT problem For ALL Scientific community NOT only For women (MOTIVATION of Male counterparts participate in GENDER equality implementation process) 3. Improve STEM EDUCATION (Making attention to the gender SPECIFICS) 4.
