4. His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life [2 Peter 1 v 3]
What is a godly life?

5. A godly life is to act as God would act, as we live on this earth
So who would be our role model?

6. ....I tell you whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father [John 14 v 12]
and I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son
No Limits

7. How do we do this?
You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you [Acts 1 v 8]
....that power is the same as the mighty strength He exerted when he raised Christ from the dead....[Eph 1 v 19]
...the Spirit God gave us ...gives us power, love and self discipline [2 Tim 1 v 7]
This is the power in all believers

8. Jesus’ instructions to his disciples
Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons [Mat. 10 v 8]
Heal the sick who are there and tell them ‘The kingdom of God has come’ [Luke 10 v 9]
Go into all the world and preach the gospel....and these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons....they will place their hands on sick people and they will get well [Mk 16 v 16 – 18] NO LIMITS
Who are his disciples?

9. So, here’s the deal...
Everything Jesus did in his earthly ministry, we can do
The Father’s business
We should be in the same business
Everything Jesus did, we get to do; that’s the deal

10. Jesus was “moved by ? “
The new covenant is a covenant of love, not duty
Power and love go together: power without love destroys, love without power doesn’t work. [See 1 Cor 13]
“a form of godliness without the power”
We have the power and we need love also

11. Jesus was moved by compassion
He only did what he saw the Father do
The Father’s love is passionate, consuming, relentless, fierce, strong.
He won’t give up
He won’t walk away
Not a drop wasted...
He sought you out
He is pursuing his sons and daughters with his great love

12. Here are some of his sons and daughters
Not a church serving out of duty, but a church that ‘goes into all the world’ with great power, and experiences joy [and phenomenal growth]
