8 Bar Coding Project The Committee is reviewing California’s use of Bar Coding on IFTA decals with the intent of making recommendations for a Best Practices document for use of Bar codes on IFTA decals* and licenses. *Approval must be granted by the IFTA Inc. Board to make any changes/additions to your Jurisdiction’s IFTA decals.

9 Electronic Filing Project
A subset of this project is being revisited at the request of Industry members on the committee. Industry would like to provide a file of return data to IFTA member jurisdictions rather than printing and mailing paper returns or accessing an IFTA member Jurisdiction’s e-File program to enter return data.

10 Electronic Filing Project - continued
The committee has approached the IFTA RPC (Regional Processing Center) to discuss creating a proprietary RPC file format of taxpayer return data. Benefits to IFTA member jurisdiction: Reduce the number of returns to data capture - which would allow staff to work on other tasks, or - reduce the amount you pay to have returns data captured Eliminate data capture errors Returns should post more quickly to your legacy system

11 WANTED Staff from IFTA member jurisdictions to serve on this committee. Please see Scott Bryer or Andrew Foster
