It begins with confronting our own sin – Matthew 7:1-6 First take the plank out of your own eye – Matthew 7:5 We must boldly deal with sin in our lives! – Colossians 3:5-10

The Lord’s Supper is a weekly reminder It reminds us of what Jesus suffered for our sins – Corinthians 11:23-26; Isaiah 53:1-12 It’s a time to examine our lives and repent of our sin – Corinthians 11:27-32; Matthew 5:23-24

“If anyone sees his brother commit a sin that does not lead to death, he should pray and God will give him life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death, I am not saying that he should pray about that. All wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin that does not lead to death.” 1 John 5: NIV

Not all sin in the church needs to be confronted We are not to go around pointing out every little sin! – Matthew 7:1-2 We should pray about it – 1 John 5:16-17 But sin that leads to death must be addressed and purged – John 5:18-21; 1 Corinthians 5:1-11

When and how to confront sin in the church Jesus gave us a pattern for dealing with sin in the church – Matthew 18:15-17; 1 Corinthians 5:1-11; Titus 3:10-11; 1 Timothy 1:3-4 Some other considerations – Galatians 6:1; 2 Timothy 2:24-26; James 5:19-20

“What business is it of mine ?” It’s not our job to confront sin in the world!–1 Corinthians 5:9-13 “God will judge those outside”– 1 Corinthians 5:13; Acts 17:30-31

Our job is to be good examples to the world We’re to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world – Matthew 5:13-16; 1 Peter 2:11-12 And make the most of every opportunity to preach the Gospel! – Colossians 4:5-6; Mark 16:15-16
