INTRODUCTION Information technologies in construction and in the work of Engineers and Architects have enabled and required changes in thinking and producing architectural objects. BIM Building Information Modeling IoT Internet of Things Information Organization based on Ontologies The relationships between these objects is the main focus PPGGOC
3
“Ontology”, “Internet of Things” and “Building Information Modeling”
BACKGROUND ontology – a representation of a portion of a certain domain - machine-readable - for information representation and retrieval, with chances of automatic inferences. Internet of Things (IoT) – Using sensors, objects are able to process: “collect, request, supply, analyze, manage and exchange data”. BIM (Building Information Modeling) is a technology for design, planning, monitoring and maintenance of buildings. PPGGOC

Mapping the research: the themes comprised are
METHODOLOGY Mapping the research: the themes comprised are “Ontolog*”, “Internet of Things” and “Building Information Modeling” Any text that contains Ontolog* AND “Internet of Things” Any text that is (exactly the same) "Building Information Modeling" RESULTS term “ontolog*” found 402,047 docs – which proves the maturity of the area and interest in the theme. "Internet of Things" found 16,023 docs “Building Information Modeling” found 4,878 docs PPGGOC

A research opportunity was identified
FINAL CONSIDERATIONS A research opportunity was identified - Lack of consolidated research on the relationships of the themes - BIM deals with spaces and objects / Ontology is spatio-temporal In view of the process of design, construction of buildings, and the building itself, and considering the broadening of horizons… for all buildings in a city… 3D simulations and modeling (BIM) of all objects in an information model (Ontology) being dynamically monitored (IoT). The union of these concepts will lead to innovations both in researches and implementation. PPGGOC
