3 types of light controller
Fully integrated electronic ballast Semi integrated electronic ballast Lamp controller
5
Fully integrated electronic ballast
Features: All in one box; Control: dimming, on/off etc; Monitoring: high/low voltage & current, high temperature, life/running hour, capacitor failure etc. Measuring: energy consumption, power factor, voltage, current, light level etc; Configuring/calibrating: power, warm-up time, running hour, energy etc. Installation: pre-installed in the light fixture on the top side Providers: Rongwen of China, Hongyuan of China, etc.
6
Fully integrated electronic ballast
in the top side fixture HPS tube Compensation capacitor Magnetic ballast top side fixture in the top side fixture Fully integrated electronic ballast pole
7
Fully integrated electronic ballast
Pros: The best energy saving Highest performance of power to active power; Dimming control Cons: The highest cost Brand new light fixture A ballast per light The longest installation time Up to the number of lifts
8
Semi integrated electronic ballast
Features: All in one box, but the magnetic ballast; Control: dimming, on/off etc; Monitoring: high/low voltage & current, high temperature, life/running hour, capacitor failure etc. Measuring: energy consumption, power factor, voltage, current, light level etc; Configuring/calibrating: power, warm-up time, running hour, energy etc; Installation: in the down side box of poles and need to move the compensation capacitor in the light fixture to the down side box Providers: Balliance of China, Vstar of China, etc.
9
Semi integrated electronic ballast
in the top side fixture HPS tube Compensation capacitor Magnetic ballast top side fixture down side box in the down side box in the top side fixture pole Semi integrated electronic ballast
10
Semi integrated electronic ballast
Pros: The better energy saving Dimming control; Cons: The higher cost A ballast per light The longer installation time Up to the number of lifts
11
Lamp controller Features: All in one box, but the magnetic ballast;
Control: 4 relay outputs for direct switching on/off 4 lamps Monitoring: high/low voltage & current, high temperature, life/running hour, capacitor failure etc. Measuring: energy consumption, power factor, voltage, current, light level etc; Configuring/calibrating: power, warm-up time, running hour, energy etc. Installation: in the down side box of poles Providers: Telchina of China, etc.
12
Compensation capacitor
Lamp controller in the top side fixture HPS tube Compensation capacitor Magnetic ballast top side fixture down side box in the down side box in the top side fixture pole Lamp controller
13
Lamp controller Pros: The better energy saving Cons: The least cost
Just simple ON/OFF control; Cons: The least cost A ballast per pole The shortest installation time Up to the number of workers
14
Lamp Controller Usage Very suitable for 2 or more arms or more than 1 lamps per pole for energy saving and maintenance. Lamp1 Lamp2 Arm1 Arm2
15
i.LON SmartServer - Segment Controller
Local Master Controller Bridge to Data Networks Built-in Astronomical clock & Real-time clock for schedulers Built-in data logging for data collection Built-in alarming for real time alarm notification Built-in I/O for door of cabinet and power main switch monitoring and control MODBUS extensions for segment energy measurement RS232 extensions for RTU Power line Interface with signal repeating Integrated serial ports for connectivity to GPRS modems (VPN) Real time collection using SOAP/XML protocol Remote Commissioning, Troubleshooting & Upgrades No on-site system services required post installation
16
Back office Real time control by lamp, by pole, by group, by mode
Real time monitoring: voltage, current, temperature Alarm dispatch Energy analysis: energy data collect and report Maintenance planning
17
Application: Full on mode (holiday)
18
Application: Decoration off mode (normal)
19
Application: Side every other off mode (late at night)
20
Application: Side off mode (midnight)
21
Savings through simple on/off
Switch off decoration lights Dim down or switch off lights by the schdeluer Virtual power per pole
22
Virtual power per pole With off or dimming, it is possible to virtually have step power per pole
23
Too high matchs 30m
24
Switch off every other light
30m
25
Improved maintenance With feedback of information it is possible to have: Improved group replacement Improved spot replacement Guarantees management
26
Guaranties It is possible to have precise information about burning hours Know if lamp failure is within guaranty period Ask for payback if lamp lasted less than expected
27
Summary of financial benefits
Energy saving due to simple switching on/off up to 45% Maintenance savings up to 50%
28
Non financial benefits
Green issue Less light pollution Energy saving Less toxic lamp wastes Others More accurate forecasts and planning Saved maintenance time
29
Value added Anti cable theft
Leverage the smart network to prevent the power cable from stealing with adding nodes of Anti cable theft Can reduce the cost and keep safety
