2. Understanding Active Dashboards What is an Active Report?
WebFOCUS Active Reports “AHTML” were developed to enhance off-line reporting capabilities.
Written in Java Script
When you use an Active Report you can:
Perform asynchronous data analysis on reports when not connected to the internet
An Active Report is self-contained – it contains all the functions and data necessary for analysis

Bundle multiple Active Reports along a common sort field
Coordinate the reports on a common theme or type
Active panels can be filtered on a common criteria controlled by a drop-down at the top of the Active Report

When you use an Active Dashboard you can combine multiple types of visualization schemes:
Graphs - pie charts, line graphs and bar graphs
Tabular reports
Pivot tables

All Active Reports to be included in Active Dashboard must have the same FIRST BY FIELD
