without using like or as. Ex.1- Sweet smell of success Ex.2- Love stinks Ex.3- Dark thoughts

Hyperbole An extravagant exaggeration.
Ex.1- I’ve told you a million times not to go there. Ex.2- He’s as big a horse. Ex.3- I’m so hungry I could eat a horse.

Personification Figure of speech giving human qualities to
non human objects. Ex.1- This book really speaks to me. Ex.2- The wind whispered through the trees. Ex.3- Fate came knocking at the door.
