6 What to expect in Room 127 My main goal is to motivate and encourage all students to be the best learners they can be, to help them grow to their full potential while becoming independent and responsible members of our school community. It is imperative that all students understand their behaviors in the classroom affect more than just themselves. We will strive to create a fun, safe, productive learning environment. Not completing classwork/homework or purposely disrupting the education of others may result in a recess detention or other consequences determined by school and district policies.

7 "BECOMING A MILLIONAIRE ONE COMPLIMENT AT A TIME!"
MILLIONAIRE BUCKS In the Williamsport Area School District we teach the importance of POSITIVE BEHAVIOR.  The use of $$ MILLIONAIRE BUCKS $$ will encourage students to always BE PRESENT, BE RESPECTFUL, BE RESPONSIBLE, and BE SAFE.  MILLIONAIRE BUCKS can lead to cool prizes and fun activities.  Students should ALWAYS be doing what is RIGHT and just maybe they will be rewarded! :)   "BECOMING A MILLIONAIRE ONE COMPLIMENT AT A TIME!"

8 Agenda Books Students are responsible for filling out their Agendas DAILY. Parents PLEASE check them often to ensure work is completed. This can also be a way to keep up to date on what your child is doing in school everyday and for you to communicate any questions, concerns, and information with me.

9 Homework Why do students have homework?
Students will be assigned homework as needed to complete assignments not finished in class. When will homework be assigned? Students will be expected to read every night (Monday-Thursday).  Sometimes books/pages will be assigned, but most of the time students will be reading their own book selections.   Students will be given other homework when assigned classwork is not completed; there will be no 'new' material assigned as homework.  This ensures that anything your child brings home will have been previously taught and discussed in class.  It also develops a sense of responsibility in the classroom to be attentive, follow directions and use time wisely.

10 Homework (Continued…)
What are the students' responsibilities? Students must be responsible for making sure they know what all assignments are before leaving class each day.  I expect students to do their best on every assignment inside and outside of the classroom.  I expect all assignments to be neat, properly headed, and complete.  If a student has difficulty with an assignment and needs help I expect them to be able to explain to me what they are having difficulty with and what attempt they made on the assignment.  What are a parent's responsibilities? Parents are the key to making homework a positive experience for children. Therefore, I ask that you try to make any assigned homework a top priority at home, provide necessary supplies and a quiet homework environment, set aside a time each day when homework is to be done.
