LINE Use only LINES to create a design of your choice
3
Shape Enclosed space defined by other elements of art. Usually 2D
Can be 3D (but used as a general term)
4
SHAPES Trace 2 Geometric Shapes
Use Organic Shapes to create an interesting design or picture!

Form 3D Encloses Volume, as a kind of “visual weight” Examples:
Cubes, Spheres, Cylinders

10
TEXTURE Create 4 large circles #1: create a texture rubbing
#2: fill it with a furry texture #3: fill it with a different texture rubbing #4: create your own texture EXAMPLES: wood, grass, bricks, feathers, scales

18
BALANCE Make 2 Drawings: #1: an example of Symmetrical Design
#2: an example of Radial Design
19
Harmony Using similar elements throughout the work.
Gives artwork an “uncomplicated” feel
20
HARMONY Pick ONE shape (example: lollypops) and repeat it over and over again to fill the page and create a design

Alternating light and dark shapes also creates rhythm Also called Pattern or Repetition
26
RHYTHM Fill your page with different patterns and/or repeated designs
27
Proportion Also called Scale
Refers to the relationships of size of objects in a work Smallness & largeness
28
