Objectives Demonstrate contrast in value and color using Crayola Marker and water. (range of 8 or more values). Demonstrate a unique texture that may or may not be from your imagination. Demonstrate fine motor control with details. Demonstrate a unique composition with runoff.

Key Vocabulary Runoff – to allow your drawing to literally “run off” the edge of your paper. This provides a more interesting design as it leaves the viewer room to imagine what the object looks like where it disappears.

Steps to Creating Watercolor Effect
Find or create a texture close-up that demonstrates runoff. Draw a detailed sketch of the texture LIGHTLY IN PENCIL. Outline/fill the shapes with marker, starting with the darkest values, and working one small section at a time. After a small section of marker is applied, add water with a brush to wash it out and create the highlighted values.
